Next victory: Maurberger wins everything in the European Cup

Less than 24 hours after his successful journey from the first day of racing the 23-year-old from South Tyrol reached out a second time in the small winter sports resort near the border with Piedmont. Unlike the day before, when he made an impressive comeback, he set the course for victory in the first round of the second slalom and increased his lead in the decision to an impressive 1,17 seconds. The three Norwegians Björn Brudevoll, Atle Lie McGrath and Timon Haugan were left behind.

Maurberger's wise decision For Maurberger, who is now the undisputed leader in the overall standings with a lead of almost 100 points over Haugan, the voluntary decision not to take part in the World Cup slalom in Zagreb and instead take a trip to the French Alps was definitely worth it. However, the EC stage in France didn't go quite as planned for Hannes Zingerle from Val Badia, who at least scored a few points in 23rd place after his retirement on Sunday in the second race.
