“How is this unique Olympia product supposed to shine? The IOC is raking in all the money itself instead of allowing those who organize the games or put on the show to benefit sustainably,” Neureuther told the Süddeutsche Zeitung (Friday edition).

The distribution principle is not correct because a few people want to have everything for themselves and in doing so choose ways and means that have nothing to do with the ideal values of sport. “It’s about personal enrichment, power, politics and your own ego and no longer about what sport stands for, namely fair play,” Neureuther continued to tell the SZ.

Reduce the number of disciplines The son of the German ski icon Rosi Mittermaier also suggests reducing the number of disciplines in the alpine area in order to increase its attractiveness again. “I would like a radical and extremely courageous cut – back to three disciplines in alpine skiing, downhill, giant slalom and slalom,” explained the technology specialist.
