Where he is right, he is right. The parallel races are complete nonsense, something for laypeople who have no idea about skiing. The driving requirements are low, you just have to drive as hard as you can, it's all about luck when choosing the slopes. It couldn't be more stupid. The fact that these events have an impact on the public is also just a fairy tale. When entire schools are carted, of course a few people come together, but in the real races there are many times as many. Even though there are a few would-be celebrities in Austria, most of them are knowledgeable and, what interests the FIS most, paying spectators.
There is so much talk about the numerous injuries. One way to improve would certainly be to reduce the number of races and then I would first cancel the parallel competitions. I would also take certain stations where an excessive number of accidents occur, such as recently in Garmisch, off the calendar for a while. It was always a whimsy there, and there were recent deaths there too (John Semmelink, Uli Maier). All other measures are boundary conditions that are difficult to oversee or control. Under no circumstances can you prohibit racers from driving fast and you have to look for the solution somewhere else.
