Nicol Delago enchants the Saslong

Nicol Delago drove over the Saslong several times in winter as a small child and knows every wave on his “home route”. The speed specialist took full advantage of this home advantage: Delago went to the Saslong with start number 14 and really got up to speed in the middle section. Through Ciaslat, her gap to leader Ilka Stuhec decreased from 0,30 to 0,12 seconds; at the finish, Delago was 0,14 seconds behind the Slovenian. From the first intermediate time to the finish, the “lady of the house” drove faster than Stuhec! It's Nicol Delago's first podium finish, at a home race of all times, a week before Christmas and less than three weeks before her 23rd birthday! For the first time, Delago made an exclamation point when he finished fifth on the second descent from Lake Louise on December 1st.
