Noel sets the tone – Vinatzer reaches for the podium

With optimal conditions, Clement Noel ran a fabulous run in the snow. While the previous runners made one or two mistakes, the Frenchman mastered the rhythmically set course and distanced himself from his first pursuers by several tenths of a second. Sebastian Foss-Solevaag (+0,53) and Kristoffer Jakobsen (+0,70) also have to look backwards in the second run. Alex Vinatzer, a South Tyrolean, is also lurking there. The man from Val Gardena opted for a more direct line and impressed with his attacking approach. Although Vinatzer is around nine tenths behind the leader Noel, he is only 0,22 seconds short of the podium. For the South Tyrolean, who was already on the podium in Trentino last season, this goal in the second round is certainly within the realm of possibility. Maurberger clean – Mölgg out Simon Maurberger was able to finish in 32th place with start number 16 and a technically clean ride. Tommaso Sala placed one place ahead of the Ahrntaler. With Giuliano Razzoli (+1,71), the Azzurri have another runner in the second round. For the veterans Manfred Mölgg and Stefano Gross, the adventure back home is already over. The first run of the Madonna di Campiglio night slalom took place early on Wednesday evening. Alex Vinatzer can definitely hope for a place on the podium. There were no big surprises at the top.
