Noel has to be beaten, Vinatzer is already out

For Alex Vinatzer, the race ended after just a few slalom poles. The man from Val Gardena made a fatal mistake on the icy starting section and was over 5 seconds behind after the first split. In the middle part, Vinatzer was finally eliminated and had a day to forget.

Of the other South Tyroleans, only Manfred Mölgg has so far qualified for the second round (start at 12.30 p.m.). The veteran from Enneberg showed a solid run on the flat slope without any major mistakes and ended up in 22nd place. Simon Maurberger fell far behind, 2,52 seconds behind, and ended up outside the top 30. Riccardo Tonetti from Bolzano also failed to achieve one of the best 30 split times and has to watch the second round. As the best Azzurro, Stefano Gross finished 11th.

The Frenchman Clement Noel had the best running time in the first round. Behind him lurks the Norwegian Sebastian Foss Solevag and, of all people, the Austrian Manuel Feller, who previously described the Flachau slope as a “fairytale meadow” and that's why noticed negatively .
