I try to ski well and enjoy what I do. Whatever comes next comes.” What is certain is that the two speed races in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on January 29th and 30th no longer count as qualification criteria for the Olympics. The Italian winter sports federation FISI will send the National Olympic Committee CONI the list of athletes who will compete in Beijing on Sunday, January 23rd or at the latest on Monday. So Nicol Delago, who was already at the Olympics in 2018 but passed a gate on the downhill, probably only has the Cortina downhill on Saturday to get her ticket. She certainly has the class to do it, even though she has never finished in the top 10 on the Tofana course. She was injured at the 2021 World Ski Championships and finished eleventh in 2019. Nicol Delago is not influenced by the special Corona circumstances. This means: traveling alone in a private car, single room in the team hotel, no contact with the fans. She, who was and is always used to sharing everything with her sister Nadia (“she took another step forward this year, is very consistent”). "It is like it is.
