Paris: “There is still a lot to improve”

The track conditions in Val Gardena are good. This is good news considering it was raining a few days ago. That looks too Eric Guay , who has not yet fully recovered from his back pain, said: “The snow feels good, but my health is borderline. I have severe back pain.” Nevertheless, the Canadian wants to compete in the Super-G on Friday and in the downhill on Saturday: “I’m hoping for two good races.”

Hannes Reichelt , who completed the training in 27th place, echoed the same sentiment: “Compliments to the piste workers, the track is in excellent condition. But my training run was sobering.” Things went better for his teammate Matthias Mayer , who is also expecting a lot in the Super-G tomorrow: “Motivation and material are right. I would like to be at the front.”

Fill and Paris not happy

Were less satisfied Peter Fill and dominik paris . While the Castelrotto native is hoping for a good starting number, Paris still sees a lot of potential for improvement. “The fog wasn’t that bad. I also tried to accelerate more than in the first training session. But there is still a lot to improve.”

This motto also applies to Axel Lund Svindal . The Norwegian finished the second training session behind in 79th place. However, Svindal didn't want to pay much attention to this: “I have to get back into the racing rhythm first. Recently I had knee problems again but the form is fine.”

This also fits Beat Feuz, , who is not considered one of the favorites for the two upcoming races on the Saslong. So far, the Swiss has never been better than eighth in Val Gardena. Above all, Feuz is hoping for good weather. “I hope that the weather will get better and we can drive the entire route.”

Tomorrow the Super-G is on the program in Val Gardena. The Saslong starts at 12.15 p.m. The departure will start on Saturday, also at 12.15 p.m.
