Phenomenon Hirscher also wins night slalom – Mölgg 7.

Manfred Mölgg almost gave himself an early Christmas present. But the 35-year-old Enneberger ultimately missed the podium quite clearly in the night slalom in Madonna di Campiglio on Friday evening. After the almost error-free first run, Mölgg was lurking in 1th position. However, in the second run he had a much more difficult time and fell back a few places. In the end, he had to settle for 4th place as the best “Azzurro”, which is still his best result of the season so far.

The victory once again went to exceptional athlete Marcel Hirscher. After the first run, the Austrian was 1 seconds ahead of the Russian Alexander Khoroshilow and 0,23 seconds ahead of the Swiss Luka Aerni. It was a highly dramatic finale. Aerni took the lead with a good second run, Khoroshilow was eliminated. Then came Hirscher: A major mistake halfway through the run cost a lot of time. Nevertheless, Hirscher was able to recover and secure victory with a strong finish.

Fabian Bacher from Ratschings was unlucky. He narrowly missed qualifying for the decisive second run. Only 2 hundredths were missing from 4th place.

Also not taking part in the second run were Patrick Thaler from Sarnen and Riccardo Tonetti from Bolzano. Both had a bad day. While Thaler finished 2th and clearly missed the top 48, Tonetti was eliminated.
