Romantic marriage proposal: dream ski couple gets engaged

Travis Ganong (33) and Marie-Michèle Gagnon (32) are well known in the ski scene. He became runner-up downhill world champion in Vail in 2015, she won a World Cup race twice and has a whopping 23 World Cup starts under her belt. The American and the Canadian have also achieved a certain level of fame in the ski circus thanks to another special feature: they have been a couple for 13 years now. Now the next step followed.

Travis Ganong has proposed to his lady of the heart. And she, unsurprisingly, said yes. The speed specialist, who also won a World Cup race twice in his career, chose a special location to answer the question of all questions: He knelt down under the Matterhorn, shrouded in fog, and took his future wife's breath away.

“Full of enthusiasm, she climbed up to that place with me without giving any further thought to the adventure,” Ganong wrote, adding, “And she said yes. I love you." Which last name comes now? Marie-Michèle Gagnon was then completely over the moon and celebrated the engagement with a crazy dance. There were also a number of congratulations from the ski family, including from South Tyrol, for example from Manuela Mölgg and Peter Fill.

So there's only one question left: What will the two lovebirds' last names be after their wedding? After all, Gagnon and Ganong sound very similar. “The Ganong family has already started brainstorming about our surname.
