The Upper Austrian, who was known as an all-rounder, had a lot of potential. In the winter of 2020/21, Lahnsteiner won the overall ranking in the European Cup, the second most important racing series in skiing. The ÖSV athlete got a fixed World Cup ticket for the following season and seemed ready for the premier ski class, but then came the shock. Shortly before the start of the season, Lahnsteiner tore a cruciate ligament during training in Schnalstal, which put him out of action for the entire season. “During my racing comeback, I clearly noticed that I was no longer ready for this challenging sport.” Max Lahnsteiner The rehabilitation was complicated, including a new operation.
