European ski teams such as the Comité Régional des Sports de Neige du Dauphiné (Eybens, France) and the German Ski Association line up alongside the US Ski Team Western Region on the Grawand piste. Thomas Valentini from the regional winter sports association FISI South Tyrol as well as numerous young athletes from the Mals Sports School and the Ski College Fassa (TN) can also be found on the glacier at 3.212 m. The police sports group and numerous South Tyrolean and national ski clubs are also on site. Safety also comes first for Tonetti For entry, everyone born in 2009 or older must show proof of their Greenpass: vaccinated, tested, recovered. “This measure is a relief for us professional athletes – imagine not being able to compete in one or two of the eight to nine giant slalom races during the season. Safety comes first,” says Riccardo Tonetti.

Stefan Hütter, marketing manager at the Alpin Arena Schnals, adds: “So far the system has worked perfectly. Ski and sports clubs, independent skiers and ski teams are just as informed and prepared as professional athletes. They accept and even welcome our step towards security,” said Hütter.
