The 30-year-old from Salzburg suffered a torn cruciate ligament and meniscus as well as a bone bruise in her left knee. Schild was operated on on Sunday in the Kettenbrücke sanatorium in Innsbruck. The technology specialist remains unlucky. Only in October of the previous year, the younger sister of Marlies Raich (Schild) tore a cruciate ligament in her right knee at the season opener in Sölden in the giant slalom and was also out for the rest of the winter. Back then, Schild quickly made it clear that ending his career was not an issue. “There will be many more winters after this one,” the Salzburg woman wrote from the hospital at the time. She also said again and again: “It can only really hurt what you like.” Already on the podium 7 times in the World Cup She has 7 podium finishes to her name in her career, all of which the Austrian achieved in slalom. She was last on the podium in November 2018 in Levi in 3rd place. Schild has so far been denied a victory in the World Cup. At Semmering, where a giant slalom and a slalom are planned on Monday and Tuesday, Schild would only have been planned for the night slalom. The 30-year-old chose the Sölden giant slalom as her comeback race in October, but did not qualify for the decision there. In the two most recent Courchevel giant slaloms, Schild was no longer in the RTL squad for the ÖSV women. At Semmering she will be replaced by Lisa Grill in the slalom.
