Schröcksnadel guarantees safe Hahnenkamm races

The holding of the 81st Hahnenkamm Races had become questionable due to suspected cases of the British coronavirus mutation in Jochberg that had occurred in the Kitzbühel district; PCR tests were used to obtain an overview of the infection process. The second is that we have not produced a single corona case in our bubble in the past few weeks when we have held races. This means our races are very safe, it will be the same in Kitzbühel,” said the Tyrolean on the sidelines of the men’s World Cup slalom in Flachau. After the Lauberhorn race was canceled, two slaloms were initially planned for this weekend (January 16th/17th) in Kitzbühel, which were then moved to Flachau. Schröcksnadel defended this decision. “We are happy that we did it this way. Ninety percent disagreed with me. But I said that if we were given three or four days to prove that there was no danger in Kitzbühel, then the races could be held with good arguments.” Platter also explained that because of the “17 virus mutations that were discovered in the alleged ski instructors from England, which shocked us,” they had taken the “very cautious route of safety” and had not added the Wengen races to Kitzbühel. “Every precautionary measure has been taken because health and safety is paramount.” This year, two runs will be staged in Kitzbühel, on Friday the one for the canceled Wengen race, and on Saturday the Hahnenkamm classic. The Super-G doesn't take place until Sunday. The traditional slalom on the Ganslernhang is canceled there after various corona-related postponements; it was held instead on (today's) Sunday in Flachau hazards. ÖSV President looks to Cortina with confidence Schröcksnadel said he could not assess the situation in Cortina d'Ampezzo, where the World Cup will take place in February. “But if they do it as well as they usually do in the races, there is no problem.” Although you have to differentiate. “If the numbers there are so high that the region is locked down, it’s something different.
