Shiffrin vaccinated against Corona: “A step towards normality”

“Over a year ago, our world came to a standstill as the global pandemic hit us. Since yesterday (Tuesday, editor's note), everyone in America over the age of 16 has been allowed to be vaccinated against Corona. When I got vaccinated a few weeks ago, I thought about everything that has happened in the last 14 months,” Shiffrin wrote on social media. “I am still impressed,” said the American, “that my teammates and I were able to take part in a Ski World Cup that was somewhat normal during this difficult time. The FIS, the local organizers and the US ski team did a great job.” A big thank you to everyone Now Shiffrin has already looked ahead - and let himself be pricked. “Being vaccinated means taking a step towards normality. It means being able to travel from point A to point B a little easier. It means being able to connect with other people a little more safely. And it means that I will soon be able to play the sport I love so much with fans again. As of Wednesday, 40 percent of the population had received at least one dose of vaccine. Expressed in numbers: 134 million people have been vaccinated. For comparison: In Italy, 19 percent of the population (or 11 million people) have received at least one prick.
