Shiffrin suffers from Flachau's unlucky Swenn-Larsson

What happened? Swenn-Larsson drove in spectacular night slalom von Flachau surprisingly made it onto the podium in third place and celebrated the second podium place of her career at the finish. But before the winner's ceremony began, the sobering news came: the Swede had interfered with a goal and was subsequently disqualified. At the finish, the 27-year-old burst into tears and Katharina Liensberger climbed onto the podium in her place.

Mikaela Shiffrin, who “only” came second and therefore also suffered disappointment, encouraged Swenn-Larsson the day after the race. “Not every race is perfect for everyone, but I think Anna Swenn Larsson had the most difficult day of all. Racing onto the podium and then being subsequently disqualified because of a threader is tough. The course was very bumpy and to be honest with every gate it felt like you were threading. So keep your head up Anna and keep smiling. You drove very quickly and deserved the podium. Even if the result you want doesn't appear on the list of winners, you can build on it." Strong words!
