Shiffrin braves the blowing snow in Flachau

The good news came before the race: the slope was in perfect condition. Although there was a lot of fresh snow in the Salzburger Land, the piste workers in Flachau had done a great job and prepared the Hermann Maier piste excellently.

The Italian Irene Curtoni had to miss out on a start at short notice. The 33-year-old, who was last in the top 10 in Zagreb, is suffering from severe back pain. Chiara Costazza, the second “Azzurra” among the top 15 runners on the star list, was already a long way behind at the first split time and gained over two seconds by the time she reached the finish line.
