Shiffrin's winning streak is broken - Mölgg is out again

Mikaela Shiffrin, who won the last 12 races in the premier technical discipline across all seasons, retired early on Tuesday afternoon after an inside ski error. Wendy Holdener, who was always on the podium in the first four slalom races, also did not make it to the finish.

In general, the first round was full of failures due to difficult slope conditions. Of the 67 runners, 24 had to raise the white flag early - including Manuela Mölgg, who continued to have bad luck on her skis in the slalom. In Zagreb she entered the hairpin bend too steeply and was lifted out as a result. It was Mölgg's fourth failure in the fifth slalom race.

Half-time leader is Veronika Velez Zuzulova: With starting number one, she set the best time thanks to a flawless ride and relegated the Austrian Bernadette Schild (+0,39) and the Czech Sarka Strachova (+0,41) to second and third place.
