Sofia Goggia promptly extends her claws

Last winter, Sofia Goggia won the small crystal ball in the downhill - even though she had to end her season at the end of January after a fall. This fact alone shows how strong the Bergamaskin was in shape. On Tuesday evening (CET), the 29-year-old indicated that Goggia can be expected to be in top condition again this year. In the first downhill training in Lake Louise, she promptly smashed the best time into the snow. Goggia beat the Slovenian Ilka Stuhec by 30 hundredths of a second, while the Swiss Joana Hählen came third, 0,58 seconds behind. Corinne Suter and Lara Gut-Behrami, who are probably one of Goggia's toughest downhill competitors this year, were not in the cards, trailing by just under two and more than three seconds respectively. Nicol Delago's return Nicol Delago made her first official downhill appearance on Tuesday after tearing her Achilles tendon a year ago. At the end of the training she was ranked 15th.
