Sofia Goggia also celebrates in the Super-G

On Wednesday, Sofia Goggia secured the Downhill World Cup with second place. Just 24 hours later, she climbed one podium higher in the Super-G and celebrated her fifth World Cup victory at the end. She relegated Viktoria Rebensburg and Lindsey Vonn to second and third place. For the 25-year-old from Bergamasque, it is the next triumph in a sensational season finale that began with Olympic gold in the downhill.

In addition to Goggia, two other “Azzurre” made it into the top ten: Federica Brignone (fifth) and Nadia Fanchini (seventh). On the other hand, things didn't go according to plan for Hanna Schnarf in the last race of the season. The Olanger woman, who impressed in sixth place in the downhill, never really found her way and had to settle for a place at the end of the field. She finished in 21st place, almost three seconds behind.
