Sofia Goggia and the key to victory

Until now, the two speed disciplines in the World Cup only knew one name: Sofia Goggia. She was able to confidently take the lead in both the downhills and the Super G at Lake Louise and led her competitors at will. Her big competitor, however, had struggling with their health , Lara Gut-Behrami didn't seem to have settled into everyday World Cup life yet.

The fight for the ball is now picking up speed. And Goggia? She faces the raging storm from Switzerland calmly. “I know it wasn't my best performance today. And I also know that I can improve.” Competition gives wings The rivalry between Sofia Goggia and Lara Gut-Behrami had already been highlighted before the season and the fight for the big crystal ball had begun. Especially in such situations it is important to remain true to yourself and not be irritated by the achievements of others. Given the three wins at the start, the speed queen seems to have succeeded in this.

But the Lombard woman is also able to take positive things from defeats: “I relied on the line that I developed with my coach. I knew that Gut was over a second ahead of Shiffrin. The fact that I was only two tenths behind made me happy.”

The duel would also become more and more exciting. “I'm glad I can compete with her.
