Speed weekend in Charmonix and Sestriere is coming up

The South Tyrolean speed kings want to repeat their good performance in the Hahnenkamm races in Charmonix. In Kitzbühel, Peter Fill (5th), Christof Innerhofer (6th) and Werner Heel (7th) were able to convince. The Italian team seems to be really gaining momentum right before the World Championships in Garmisch. However, this trend now needs to be confirmed when descending in the French Alps.

Eleven “Azzurri” will compete in Charmonix. In addition to Matteo Marsaglia, Paolo Pangrazzi and Mattia Casse, the team also includes the eight South Tyroleans Hagen Patscheider, Peter Fill, Christof Innerhofer, Werner Heel, Stefan Thanei, Dominik Paris, Patrick Staudacher and Andy Plank.

During downhill training on Thursday, which was overshadowed by a serious fall by Austrian Mario Scheiber, Klaus Kröll set the best time. He crossed the finish line after 2.02,53:0,04 minutes, 0,10 seconds ahead of his compatriot Georg Streitberger. For Gaiser Christof Innerhofer, third place was the next top result in training (+XNUMX). At the Women's World Cup in Sestriere, the focus is also on a downhill run on Saturday, before the super combination of Super-G and slalom takes place on Sunday. The first training run was completed on Wednesday on the 2006 Olympic slope. Verena Stuffer was the best South Tyrolean. She finished twelfth in the final ranking, immediately ahead of her teammate Lucia Recchia. Hanna Schnarf finished free practice in 22nd place. In addition to the three South Tyroleans, Elena Fanchini, Camilla Borsotti, Daniela Merighetti, Elena Curtoni, Enrica Cipriani and Francesca Marsaglia will also be part of the Italian squad this weekend.
