Curiously, the weather was great in Lenzerheide on Friday - and so the team competition, which for many is insignificant, could be held in bright sunshine and ideal conditions.

The fact that the ski elite doesn't think much of this format was evident from the line-up: the big stars were searched in vain, of the well-known names only Luca De Aliprandini (vice world champion in giant slalom) and Adrian Pertl (vice world champion slalom) were. included. One reason for the lack of interest is that there are no points for the individual ranking in the team event. Italy is eliminated early In the end, the Norwegian quartet, which had already triumphed at the World Cup in Cortina d'Ampezzo, prevailed. In the final, Kristina Riis-Johannessen, Leif Nestvold-Haugen, Kristin Lysdahl and Sebastian Foss-Solevaag prevailed against Germany (Andrea Filser, Linus Strasser, Lena Dürr and Alexander Schmid). Delago was eliminated in her duel against Filser, but then De Aliprandini and World Cup debutant Sophie Mathiou (she was crowned junior world champion in slalom a few days ago) gave Italy a 2-1 lead. In the final duel, however, Alex Schmid prevailed against Giovanni Borsotti, pushing Germany into the semi-finals and Italy out of the competition.

Incidentally, De Aliprandini indicated in an interview with ORF that he was using the team event as training. “The association’s interest in this is not particularly great,” said the Nonsberger.
