With the low start number 2, Innerhofer had somewhat better visibility and slope conditions, but he was the test pilot for the other runners, because Matthias Mayer with the start number 1 was eliminated after a few goals. As is so often the case, “Inner” mastered the technically difficult middle section brilliantly, and even in the flat finish the Gaiser didn’t lose much time.

Dominik Paris from Ultimo followed with start number 3 and hit the Canadian snow for a sensational part-time performance in the upper part of the route. However, “Domme” botched the entry into the steep slope and the Ultner didn’t master the target shot perfectly either. At the finish, Paris was right behind Innerhofer.

The third top runner from South Tyrol, Peter Fill, had to venture onto the route in sleet and poor visibility. The Castelrotto native made the most of these difficult conditions and placed directly behind his teammates. The trio stayed together throughout the entire race, and in the end it was enough for a “South Tyrol train” to take sixth, seventh and eighth place.

The Super-G in Lake Louise remains firmly in the hands of the Norwegians. Kjetil Jansrud prevailed with a lead of 0,28 seconds over Hannes Reichelt, followed by Max Franz in third place. With Jansrud's victory, the Norwegians extended their winning streak in the Super-G in Lake Louise that has been going on since 2011.

The men's ski world cup is now moving to Beaver Creek in the USA, where a downhill, a super-G and a giant slalom are on the program next weekend.

South Tyrol package in the top 10

The South Tyroleans Christof Innerhofer, Dominik Paris and Peter Fill performed well at the first World Cup Super-G of the season in Lake Louise in Canada. The trio finished in the top 10 in less than ideal conditions.
