South Tyroleans are behind in the European Cup

The Austrian ski women celebrated an impressive triumph in the downhill race in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee. Places one to five went to the red-white-red team. 22-year-old Stefanie Moser secured victory ahead of her teammates Nicole Schmidhofer, Regina Mader, Cornelia Hütter and Mariella Voglreiter. The fastest of the Italian team, Lucia Mazzotti, is in 15th place. As the best South Tyrolean, Anna Hofer was ranked 43rd. Lisa Agerer, on the other hand, took 46th place, which was disappointing for her. Janina Schenk from Val Gardena was 63.

From a South Tyrolean perspective, there is also no feeling of success from the men's early European Cup departure at Patscherkofel: 20-year-old Michael Eisath came second to last in the final ranking, coming in 73rd place. Elmar Hofer and Michael Sinn, however, did not make it to the finish. The Swiss Vitus Lüönd secured victory on Innsbruck's local mountain, ahead of the young Austrian Johannes Kröll and Andreas Sander from Germany.
