“Damn, We’re Married”: A Crazy Ski Wedding

In an ancient church, on a beautifully prepared wedding altar and in the midst of many well-known people who, well dressed, shed a tear or two of joy at the church pews: this is roughly what a traditional wedding looks like these days. Ski star Bryce Bennett, who won his first World Cup victory in Val Gardena last December, apparently doesn't think much of it. Because he recently celebrated a slightly different wedding.

The American said yes to his fiancée Kelly - in the middle of the forest. The wedding took place on the heavily forested west shore of Lake Tahoe. This is a huge lake on the border of the US states of Nevada and California. And the place where speed specialist Bennett practically grew up. In bright sunshine and in the midst of meter-high trees and dry bushes, a slightly different, but still picture-perfect wedding ceremony followed.

“DAMN WE’RE MARRIED BRYCEY BOY,” newlywed Kelly wrote on social media. “I thought I would wait at least a week before changing my last name on Instagram. But it turns out that I'm not so chilled after all," the ski wife is full of emotions, even days after saying "I do."

The wedding was attended by several racers from the US ski team, including Steven Nyman and Ryan Cochran-Siegle. Bryce Bennett himself, on the other hand, recharged his batteries before the World Cup started again. The 30-year-old left his first big mark in the premier ski class with his victory in the Val Gardena downhill race. In general, Bennett is considered a Saslong specialist: he made it into the top 6 in the World Cup six times, four of which he achieved in Val Gardena. As a newlywed husband, does he continue to have Camel Hump, Ciaslat Meadow and Co. under such good control?
