VIDEO | The life curves of a ski legend are worth reading
FISI South Tyrol officially opened the new winter season with the winter sports festival in Auer. Many prominent guests were present, especially ski legend Gustav Thöni, who exactly 50 years ago was the first South Tyrolean skier to be crowned Olympic giant slalom champion in Sapporo (Japan). On this occasion, SportNews spoke to Thöni about his new biography, which was published by Athesia-Tappeiner Verlag. The Olympic medalists from Beijing 2022, Omar Visintin (Lagundo/snowboard cross) and Dominik Fiwickeler (Meransen/artistic track tobogganing), were also there in Auer. Manfred Mölgg (Enneberg/Alpine Skiing) and Silvia Bertagna (St. Ulrich/Freestyle), who have ended their active careers, were also said farewell.
