Full throttle as a young mom: Hanna Schnarf's new life

The now 37-year-old is married to Alex and has been the proud mother of little Leni since August 27, 2020. “The pregnancy during Corona was no problem. It was even perfect. We had a lot of time for ourselves as a family, it was really pleasant,” remembers Schnarf.

Today the Schnarf family lives in Issing near Pfalzen. “I have a job at the financial guard in Bruneck, which is only a ten-minute drive from home. I like my new everyday life after my career as a competitive athlete. It's never boring with Leni. She is lively, funny and a little stubborn. Just like me,” jokes Hanna, who is never at a loss for a smile.

Of course, she hasn't completely finished skiing. “I took part in the 2Horn downhill run so I could feel the feeling of speed and adrenaline again. I also ski freely and did two camera trips at the World Cup in Cortina,” reports the young mother. Speaking of Cortina: In 2020, a farewell party for Schnarf, the Fanchinis and Merighetti was planned for March/April in the luxury ski resort. “But then Corona came and everything was canceled. Hanna soon meets her former teammates again. "That's the way it is. On April 23rd, Elena Curtoni married in Liguria. We are all invited and are looking forward to spending some entertaining time together.” Schnarf always makes time for himself. “I meet up with friends, go hiking, go skiing. Luckily, Alex is also sporty. “He goes ski touring, hikes, paraglides and looks after Leni very lovingly,” Schnarf gives an insight into his private life.

The former speed specialist will certainly convey to Leni the joy of sport. “We do a lot with her. But for now everything should be playful. Then she will decide for herself. But I notice that she likes skiing. When we watch the World Cup races on TV, she gets excited,” says Hanna. Leni certainly doesn't have to become a professional athlete. “Now that I'm no longer training hard, my joints are doing much better. Unfortunately, skiing is tough,” admits Schnarf.

Full throttle as a young mom: Hanna Schnarf's new life

Hanna Schnarf ended her ski racing career a good two years ago. Podium places (one each in downhill and super-G), top placings in the speed disciplines, but also serious injuries shaped the career of the Olanger woman, who was always in a good mood and brimming with joy for life.
