Vonn and Goggia are back – Schnarf is extremely strong

A week ago, Vonn collided with a goal in St. Moritz, sustained a back injury and had to be treated for a long time at the finish. A few days later, the US lady was back on skis - and she accelerated hard. In Val d'Isère, where Vonn was crowned double world champion in 2009, the American achieved the best run of her season, thanks to which she finally set a time of 1.04,86:11 minutes and thus secured the day's victory. This marked the end of a long dry spell for Vonn: the last time the successful ski ace triumphed was 78 months ago in the downhill run in Garmisch Partenkirchen. Now she was able to celebrate her XNUMXth World Cup victory.

Vonn was of course extremely happy after the race - just like Sofia Goggia. Last year's high-flyer (on the podium 13 times) has not yet got up to speed this year, as a sixth place in Lake Louise underlines as her best result. But now the knot has broken and Goggia secured her first podium place of the season with second place. Norwegian Ragnhild Mowinckel came third.
