In front of Alta Badia: Corona worries in Italy's ski team

Two athletes and a supervisor from the World Cup team tested positive for the coronavirus before the second European Cup slalom in Pozza di Fassa. According to the Journal of Sport The athletes are Giuliano Razzoli and Tommaso Sala. That's why the South Tyroleans Simon Maurberger and Alex Vinatzer were not allowed to take part in the second slalom in the Fassa Valley. The organizers prohibited them from doing so, even though both had repeatedly tested negative. This was a precautionary measure. But what happens next for Vinatzer and Maurberger? “We will travel to Alta Badia on Saturday and do further tests there. “Then we’ll see whether we can start on Monday,” said Maurberger SportNews -Demand. As of now, the two will make their World Cup comeback at the slalom in Alta Badia on Monday. Mölgg and Kastlunger show off in the European Cup Manfred Mölgg, on the other hand, was able to compete in the Fassa Valley on Friday because he is considered immune after his corona infection a few weeks ago. After the day before, all South Tyroleans were eliminated , things went much better this time from a sporting perspective. In addition to Mölgg, who took second place, another Enneberger, sixth-placed Tobias Kastlunger (he was allowed to start because he is part of the European Cup squad), ended up in the top ten. It was almost enough for Mölgg to win in his second race after the corona infection. The 38-year-old was in the lead after the first round. In the end, Mölgg had to admit defeat to the Frenchman Theo Letitre by six hundredths of a second. Kastlunger equalized his best European Cup result to date with 1th place. The 6-year-old secured a ticket for the slalom in Alta Badia and will make his World Cup debut on Monday. But this all took a back seat due to the positive corona cases in the Italian slalom team.
