Before the final: Mixed feelings for Innerhofer and Paris

Christof Innerhofer indicated during training that he feels completely at home on the French slopes. After his 4th place on Monday, he ended up in 5th place on Tuesday and is going into the final descent on Wednesday (10 a.m.) with at least an outside chance.

“This slope is beautiful,” says Gaiser about the 2023 World Cup route. “You have to drive well, there are a lot of curves in it, but there are also many passages where you have a lot of fun.” Innerhofer comments on the website of the Italian Winter Sports Association also about his season so far. “I'm not happy with the winter. In December I had various problems and I really didn't do well. Things went better in January, I did good training, but something was always missing in the race. This also applies to the Olympics, where I did well in rehearsals but was immediately eliminated from the competition. I know I can do more. I’m sorry that the season is already over because I always want to race.” Paris feels so-so Dominik Paris showed great improvement in the final training and is in 8th position in the final ranking. But he hasn't really warmed up yet in Courchevel/Meribel. “The impressions today weren't exactly overwhelming, even though the time was quite good. “That’s something,” says Paris, who adds: “I want to finish here with a good result so that I can take a lot of motivation with me for the summer.”

By the way, Ryan Cochran-Siegle, the runner-up Olympic champion in Super-G, achieved the best training time on Tuesday. The big downhill finale is on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (570 points) and Beat Feuz (547) will probably fight for the crystal ball among themselves.
