The ski calendar amazes

Like every year, the Alpine World Cup season starts on the Rettenbachferner in Sölden on October 22nd and 23rd with a giant slalom. Instead of the three-week break from racing, the World Cup will continue in Central Europe. There are two downhill runs on the calendar in Zermatt, with the men starting on October 29th and 30th, followed a week later by the women on the new downhill route around the Matterhorn. The controversial parallel event in Lech will take place in mid-November before moving on to Levi. The entourage moves overseas at the end of November, and the traditional speed races in Beaver Creek and Lake Louise will be joined by the women's World Cup in Killington again this year. The South Tyrolean Ski Trophy begins on the Saslong in Val Gardena, where two training sessions, a Super G and a downhill run are on the program from December 14th to 17th, 2022. On December 18th and 19th, two giant slaloms will be held again on the Gran Risa in Alta Badia. After the men's classics in Wengen and Kitzbühel, the Queen of Kronplatz will be crowned on January 24, 2023. Another new North American stage is planned after the World Championships in Courchevel and Méribel (February 6 to 19, 2023). The skiing there includes places like Palisades Tahoe (USA), which is also new to the ski calendar. The 2023 World Cup final will take place in Andorra/Soldeu from March 13th to 19th.
