Wilder Kristoffersen celebrates Crystal

This pedestal is worth crystal! Kristoffersen secured his third slalom ball with second place in Meribel, the day's victory went to his compatriot Atle Lie McGrath, who celebrated his second win of the season after Flachau. Due to Lucas Braathen's half-time lead, it was clear that Kristoffersen could not rest on his performance in the first round and had to attack despite his lead in the discipline rankings. The piste conditions deteriorated from runner to runner, and a safety run could have become dangerous. Kristoffersen therefore invested a lot in his run and caused a moment of shock in the middle section. The 27-year-old missed the ball, but recovered and drove towards the crystal ball.

In the overall standings, Kristoffersen finished 90 points ahead of Feller, followed by McGrath, 13 points behind. Braathen fell back to 11th place due to its 4th place on Sunday. Vinatzer falls far behind For the only South Tyrolean in the slalom decision, it wasn't enough for a conciliatory end to the World Cup winter. Vinatzer managed a solid start after finishing 10th in the first round, but the Wolkensteiner couldn't keep up with the pace of the competition. The best Azzurro was Tommaso Sala with 7th place (+1,08), Giuliano Razzoli placed one place ahead of Vinatzer (17th/+1,75). Incidentally, Albert Popov (4th/+0,93) and Joaquim Salarich (5th/+0,97) made the biggest comebacks. While Popov moved up 18 places, his Spanish counterpart even gained 20 places. Shortly beforehand, Tessa Worley secured the crystal ball in the giant slalom for the women in a truly heart-stopping final.
