Windingstad triumphs in Carezza – Tonetti in sixth place

Windingstad had already laid the foundation for victory in the first round when he moved to the top of the rankings with a running time of 55,30 seconds. In the decision he managed his lead cleverly and won the race with a total time of 1:53,67 minutes. For the Scandinavian, who had already climbed to the second highest European Cup podium in Levi this year, it was the first victory in the continental racing series.

Second place went to the Swiss Thomas Tumler, who was able to gain one place in the decision. In the end, he was 0,26 seconds behind Windingstad. Dominik Schwaiger from Germany came third.

Riccardo Tonetti best “Azzurro”

Riccardo Tonetti from Bolzano achieved the best Italian result. After fifth place in the slalom in Obereggen, the Talferstadt native landed in sixth place in the giant slalom on the Pra di Tori slope. Tonetti was 1,29 seconds behind the day's winner.

Meanwhile, Florian Eisath from Eggental missed out on a place in the top ten. Still in tenth place at halftime, the South Tyrolean lost three places in the second round and ultimately had to settle for 13th place (+1.59).

Simon Maurberger from Ahrntal, who was still in 52nd place after the first run, was eliminated in the decision. However, Hannes Zingerle from Val Badia and Alex Hofer from Castelrotto were unable to qualify for the second round.

Windingstad triumphs in Carezza – Tonetti in sixth place

At the European Cup giant slalom in Carezza, Norwegian Rasmus Windingstad celebrated his first victory in the continental racing series on Thursday. The best “Azzurro” was Riccardo Tonetti from Bolzano.
