Numerous resignations in the German ski team

These are 25-year-old Bastian Meisen and 22-year-old Martina Ostler. Both have declared their ski careers over on their social media channels and are now starting a new chapter. Technical specialist Meisen competed in the World Cup seven times in his career and scored World Cup points once: in 2019 he finished 19th in the parallel giant slalom in Alta Badia. He felt more comfortable in the European Cup, where he achieved two podium places in Berchtesgaden, Bavaria (3rd place) and in Jasna, Slovakia (2nd place). “Last season was certainly not an easy one. Nevertheless, after my operation in November, I was able to fight my way back into the World Cup and was back on the podium in the European Cup. I have always given everything and have now reached a point where I don't see my future and development in the World Cup. “That’s why I’ve decided to end my active professional career,” wrote Meisen on social media. Podium place on South Tyrolean soil His colleague Ostler, who also competed in seven World Cup races, also said goodbye to the ski stage on social networks. However, the 22-year-old did not give a reason for her decision. The technology specialist achieved two podium places in the European Cup in her career, one of them on South Tyrolean soil (2nd place in the parallel slalom at Kronplatz in 2019). There have already been a few resignations reported in the German ski team this year. Already in the last few weeks Michaela Wenig and Marina Wallner declared their professional careers over.
