The man from Val Gardena would have liked to have taken part in the Ski Flying World Championships in Planica, Slovenia (March 19th to 22nd). Now Insam has to stay at home due to the latest coronavirus regulations. The 22-year-old announced this via Instagram.

For Insam, this ends a season that was forgettable. The South Tyrolean never made it into the points this year. By the way: The Ski Flying World Championships in Planica will take place without spectators, as was decided at a meeting of the National Security Council in Slovenia on Monday.

On Tuesday evening the ski jumpers will be in action in Lillehammer, Norway. Before the last 3 World Cup competitions, Stefan Kraft is in the lead in the overall ranking. The Austrian has 138 more than the German Karl Geiger.

Because of the coronavirus, the Italian winter sports association has decided that Italian athletes (with a few exceptions) will no longer be allowed to compete in foreign competitions. This now also affects ski jumper Alex Insam.
