12 snowboarders appointed to the national team - Hannes Hofer quits

For alpine snowboarders, the World Cup squad consists almost exclusively of athletes from the northernmost province of the boot state. Nadya Ochner, Elisa Profanter, Edwin Coratti, Roland Filehner, Aaron March and Christoph Mick will be at the start again next season. The squad is completed by Mirko Felicetti from Trentino and Maurizio Bormolini from Lombardy.

Meanwhile, Daniele Bagozza, Marc Hofer, Gabriel Messner and the young Vivien Santifaller will start in the European Cup. However, they should also be used in the World Cup. Missing from this group is someone who has repeatedly attracted international attention in recent years: the Brixner Hannes Hofer . He competed in a total of 15 World Cup races, but was unable to establish himself in the top racing series. His career highlights include three third places in the European Cup in 2015.

However, the number of South Tyroleans in the national boardercross team has not changed. Here the focus is once again on Emanuel Perathoner and Omar Visintin, who won the team competition World Cup together last season.

There are no local skiers registered in the snowboard slopestyler World Cup for the coming season.

The winter sports association has announced the names of the snowboarders who will represent Italy on international snow in the 2017/18 World Cup season. A large part comes from South Tyrol.
