4 South Tyroleans race into the top 8 in Pyeongchang

Aaron March became the best “Azzurro” at the World Cup race in Pyeongchang. The Schabser made it to the semi-finals, but had to admit defeat to the Austrian Lukas Mathies. In the race for third place, he lost out to veteran Andreas Prommegger and ended up fourth.

Edwin Coratti and Roland Filehner finished in seventh and eighth place respectively. Fischlerler had to admit defeat to his teammate March in the quarter-finals. Coratti was eliminated by eventual winner Zan Kosir. Daniele Bagozza was the fourth fastest South Tyrolean, 21st.

In the overall World Cup, Filehner is in second place after this race with 2.450 points, while March is in fourth place (2.260 points). The Austrian Benjamin Karl is currently in the lead with 2.520 points. In the giant slalom World Cup, Fiwickeler is ahead with 2.130 points. March and Coratti are in fourth (1.660 points) and sixth (1540 points) in the discipline rankings.

Ochner confirms her strong season The Czech Ester Ledecka won the women's event. The double Olympic champion from 2018 (alpine skiing and snowboarding) celebrated a successful return to Pyeongchang. Nadya Ochner from Burgstall was eliminated in the quarterfinals against eventual runner-up Selina Jörg. Thanks to her strong qualifying time, Ochner finished the race in fifth place.

The 25-year-old is in fifth place in the overall ranking. In the discipline ranking, Ochner takes second place (2800 points), behind Ledecka (2.350 points).

4 South Tyroleans race into the top 8 in Pyeongchang

On Saturday, a parallel giant slalom was on the program for alpine snowboarders in Pyeongchang (South Korea). In the 2018 Olympic venue, four South Tyroleans made it into the top 8.
