Coratti triumphs in the World Cup – final victory against Bagozza

What a South Tyrolean day at the parallel giant slalom snowboard world cup in Rogla. Edwin Coratti from Langtaufers and Daniele Bagozza from Val Gardena marched in lockstep into the final.

Coratti had the upper hand there and relegated Bagozza to second place (+0,27). For the 27-year-old from the idyllic Langtauferer Valley in the upper Vinschgau, it was the second World Cup victory ever. He won his first victory in the parallel slalom in Winterberg in March 2016.

For Bagozza, however, it was by far the best World Cup result ever. Until now, the 23-year-old from Ortisei had never made it into the top ten.

“Fisch” fails in the quarterfinals In the round of 0,61, Coratti lost to the “Azzurro” Maurizio Bormolini (+0,22), while Bagozza was able to prevail against the Russian Igor Sluev (+0,08). Roland Filehner from Funes also barely survived the round of 39 against Russian Andrej Sobolev (+0,09). However, the XNUMX-year-old narrowly lost out in the quarter-finals against the Swiss Nevin Galmarini. “Fisch” was just XNUMX seconds slower than its competitor. Ultimately, Fischler was ranked fifth.

Coratti prevailed in the quarterfinals against the French Sylvain Dufour (+0,10), Bagozza advanced against the Austrian Andreas Promegger (eliminated). Ochner narrowly missed the podium In the women's category, Nadya Ochner from Burgstall at least made it to the semi-finals. There she had to admit defeat to the Russian Natalia Soboleva. In the small final against Cheyenne Loch from Germany, Ochner was disqualified. The victory went to Selina Jörg.

Meanwhile, the South Tyrolean, who recorded her first success in Carezza in December, has taken the lead in the overall World Cup. She is 250 points ahead of the exceptional athlete Ester Ledecka. The Czech is starting this weekend at the Ski World Cup in Cortina.
