The countdown to the World Cup in Carezza is underway

For the 10th time, the international snowboard entourage is pitching its tents at the foot of the rose garden in the week before Christmas. The dedicated organizing committee around President Andreas Obkircher is celebrating its first anniversary this year - hopefully of many more to come. “This 10th edition is certainly special for everyone involved and an important milestone for the team behind the event. We have grown continuously since the premiere in December 2011 and have tried to make it a little better every year,” explains Andreas Obkircher. When the president of the organizing committee looks back on the past editions, he can think back to many memorable appearances on the steep snowboard slope: “Of all the participants, I like our local athletes like Roland Fiwickeler and Nadya Ochner, both of whom have already competed at the Pra-Tu- Tori Piste won are best remembered. The arrival takes place on Monday before the international snowboard elite train on the Paolina slope on the following two days. The qualification finally takes place on Thursday morning between 9 and 11 a.m. Two hours later, at 13 p.m., the exciting final begins in knockout mode, for which the fastest 16 snowboarders qualify. Almost an hour and a half later, the winner has been decided. There is also positive news from the weather front. Because it will cool down significantly in the coming days, the snow cannons can be switched on throughout the Carezza ski area. Then all the slopes, including the Pra Di Tori slope, will be covered with technical snow - not only for the World Cup races on Thursday, December 17th, but also for the hopefully imminent start of the winter sports season.
