Edwin Coratti impresses at the World Cup in Carezza

At the second event of the season, the elite of the Snowboard World Cup stopped in Carezza. After qualifying in the morning, several Azzurri were able to preserve the chance of a good placing at home. The victories ultimately went to the Austrian Daniela Ulbing and the German Stefan Baumeister. But the hosts also had reason to celebrate. In the men's race, five local heroes tackled the final runs, while Nadya Ochner was the only remaining Azzurra after qualification. Daniele Bagozza, Roland Fiwickeler and Maurizio Bormolini had to say goodbye to the fight for the podium in the round of 16. Despite a strong final sprint, Bagozza from Val Gardena was narrowly inferior to eventual winner Stefan Baumeister. Fischlerler had to admit defeat in an internal duel against Edwin Coratti. There, like Bagozza, he lost out to Baumeister and met his teammate Mirko Felicetti in the small final. There the Langtauferer improved again and celebrated his eleventh podium finish in his career. For Nadya Ochner, the final run ended early. The snowboard ace from Burgstall was only eight hundredths short of advancing in the round of 16 against Darina Klink. Edwin Coratti impresses at the World Cup in Carezza

On Thursday the Snowboard World Cup took place in Carezza. The parallel giant slalom was fought at the foot of the Latermas. While Daniela Ulbing took the crown in the women's race, Edwin Coratti was pleased with a strong podium finish in the home race.
