Edwin Coratti: “That pushes me enormously”

Coratti has achieved a lot in his career. He stood on a World Cup podium 9 times in his career, climbing to the top podium 3 times. Two years ago he even came third in the overall World Cup. But the now 2-year-old isn't done yet: “I'm still very motivated. I enjoy life as a snowboard professional. If I stay injury-free, I definitely want to ride for a few more years.” “I can learn a lot from Roland Fiwickeler” When asked whether he wanted to be there as long as his teammate Roland Fiwickeler, who won the overall World Cup for the first time this year at the age of 39, Coratti replied: “No, not exactly that long (laughs). But I can learn a lot from him. He has enormous experience, pays close attention to his body and his technique is brilliant anyway.” Coratti enjoys his life as a snowboarder In general, it is a “privilege” for Coratti to be able to pursue his passion, snowboarding, full-time. “We have optimal conditions in South Tyrol anyway. Coratti wants to work on consistency With a view to next winter, the Langtaufer native wants to work on his consistency: “I was on the podium twice last season, but I ended up outside the top 10 too often. I want to stop that. Otherwise, the World Cup in Secret Garden (China) is the big goal of the season. I'm still missing a World Cup medal. It’s a big dream and I’m working hard for it.” “There’s an insane team behind it.” In addition to his sporting achievements, Coratti is also known for his fan club in the World Cup. He is always represented in large numbers at his home races in Carezza, Cortina or Scuol (half an hour's drive from Langtaufers). “That pushes me enormously. There's an incredible team behind it, who always give it their all after the races (laughs). The fan club can now also cheer on Edwin's sister, Jasmin, at the races. The 18-year-old won the Italian championship title in the general class last year and took bronze at the Junior World Championships. When asked what he believes his little sister can do in the future, Edwin answers: “A lot. She is a great talent on the board. What is still missing is the experience and the many hours of training. But she’s ambitious, so I think she can go far.”
