Emanuel Perathoner is now setting his sights on the Team World Cup

When everyone else seems a bit “Spanish”, Emanuel Perathoner is at his best: last September he came second at the World Cup opener in Argentina, he came third in La Molina last weekend – and his girlfriend is Spanish. Ole!

The 31-year-old still has a lot planned for this season, as he explained after the race on Saturday: “I'm quite happy with how the season has gone so far, now it's time to keep going.” In the World Cup ranking, Perathoner wants to defend fifth place, and in the Team World Cup he wants to defend the ball from last year with his colleague Omar Visintin (Lagundo).

Showdown in Veysonnaz

Next Saturday the snowboard crossers will be stopping off in the Russian capital Moscow for the first time: “This slope is new for everyone, so we don’t know what to expect. Then we go to the finale in Veysonnaz, a route that suits us.” In 2012, Perathoner was on the podium for the first time in his career in Veysonnaz, and last year he won the small crystal ball in team cross with Visintin in Veysonnaz.

In the previous team races, Perathoner/Visintin landed in fifth place (Montafon) and first place (Erzurum). With 1450 points, the duo is currently in third place in the team cross rankings, behind Spain 1 (1500 points) and Austria 1 (1600 points). However, Markus Schairer from Team Austria 1 suffered a fractured cervical vertebra at the Winter Games in PyeongChang and will be out indefinitely. Emanuel Perathoner's motto for the last races of the season: “A todo gas”.
