“Fisch” gets a small crystal ball thanks to third place in Moscow - UPDATE

Fischlerler, who had won in Moscow in the past two years, easily reached the quarter-finals against the Swiss Roland Haldi. There he had a duel with his roommate Aaron March, whom he lost by just 0,02 seconds. March achieved the fastest time in qualifying.

In the semi-finals, Filehner faced the Russian Stanislav Detkov, to whom he had to bow. It was also Detkov who took the win against Nevin Galmarini from Switzerland - the first podium ever in his 50th World Cup race.

Meanwhile, Fischler won the “small” final, which, like all other races in the knockout phase, was decided in just one run, against Justin Reiter (USA). For Fischlerler it was the fourth podium of the current season and the 22nd of his career. And it was that podium that not only gave him the lead in the overall standings, but also the win of the first "small crystal ball" in the parallel slalom. Incidentally, Aaron March secured third place in the discipline rankings. The 26-year-old is in fourth place in the overall World Cup standings.

"The ball is in the right hands. Last year Promegger beat me by nothing, now it's me who holds the trophy in my hands. I think that winning the crystal ball is deserved because over the course of the season I am most consistently. Now I will celebrate with my teammates and the coaches. But I haven't had enough yet. I still have two goals to make this season - together with winning the two World Cup medals - perfect," quoted the Italian Winter Sports Federation FISI has the 32-year-old South Tyrolean on his side.
