For the first time in the history of the FIS Snowboard World Cup, a parallel decision will be made in the single-run format.

In the final of the best 16 women and men, only one run per duel is completed, after which the faster of the two snowboarders advances to the next round. The new format not only makes the knockout round tougher and more dramatic, but also makes the qualification more important, as the better person in the time trials gets to choose the course. A tactical finesse that also challenges the support staff on the racing slope, as they may have to react quickly to changes in the slope conditions.

Fischler and March have good memories of Bad Gastein On Saturday (January 12th), the second and last race before the 10th FIS Snowboard World Championships in Quebec, Canada and Stoneham (January 15th - 27th) will be held in the usual re-run format with a return run.

Les Contamines in France will be the venue for the fifth ski cross World Cup stage on January 12th, in which four “Azzurri” will be at the start: Diego Castellaz and the three South Tyroleans Stephan Miribung, Stefan Thanei and Marco Tomasi are already in the qualification on Friday in use. A halfpipe and a slopestyle World Cup race will take place in Copper Mountain this weekend. The two South Tyroleans Simon Gruber and Marco Grigis will be trying out in the qualification for the slopestyle competition, which will take place on Wednesday at 17.45 p.m.
