With the best qualifying time, “Fisch” had the situation fully under control in the round of 2013. Although the South Tyrolean was always behind in the first round in the round of XNUMX and quarter-finals, he still had the upper hand first against Simon Schoch and then against his teammate Meinhard Erlacher. In the semifinals he finally prevailed against Sylvain Dufour, and in the final the two-time World Cup medalist from Stoneham XNUMX showed local hero Zan Kosir the limits. As the only snowboarder in the “Alpine” World Cup circuit, Filehner has never finished worse than fourth in the six races of the current season (World Cup and World Cup).

Thanks to the triumph in Rogla, Fiwickeler has now taken the lead in the overall World Cup ranking, as the Austrian Andreas Prommegger couldn't get past sixth place today. Meinhard Erlacher, who eliminated Aaron March in the round of 16, finished the race behind the Austrian in seventh place. Christoph Mick and Edwin Coratti, on the other hand, canceled the qualification.

“I knew that I could win the race, but you should never do the calculation without the opponents. I'm so happy. The slope wasn't too technically difficult, the competition was very strong, but I was able to hold my own in all duels. My consistency in the results is great, I am motivated and now want to defend the yellow jersey at all costs. A lot can still happen between now and the end of the season, so I will concentrate on my technique. I will travel to Sochi for the Olympic test with a lot of self-confidence,” said Fiwickeler.

In the women's race, Ekaterina Tudegesheva won today ahead of the Dutch Nicole Sauerbreij and the Austrian Claudia Riegler. The fastest “Azzurra” was Corinna Boccacini in eighth place. For the two South Tyroleans Nadya Ochner and Andrea Christine Tribus, however, the qualification was the end of the line.
