The Snowbard World Cup on the Karerpass began with real fireworks from a South Tyrolean perspective: Roland Fiwickeler won the parallel giant slalom on the Pra di Tori slope ahead of Benjamin Karl from Lower Austria. For the 31-year-old from Funes, it was the fourth World Cup victory, the first in giant slalom, after three slalom successes in the last twelve months in Limone Piemonte, Moscow and Landgraaf. In the women's category, however, the Canadian Caroline Calve prevailed against Amelie Kober from Germany.
