Maurizio Bormolini is not a one-hit wonder

12 days ago Maurizio Bormolini was sensational won the parallel slalom in Bad Gastein. This was the first World Cup victory for the 28-year-old, who has been competing in the premier class of parallel snowboarders since 2011. Now the rider from Livigno has impressively demonstrated that this was no flash in the pan. On Sunday Bormolini celebrated another victory in the parallel slalom in Bansko.

The Italian was already the fastest in qualifying and continued to do so in the knockout rounds. Bormolini drove as if from one piece, eliminated competitor after competitor and then found himself in the final, where he gave the Austrian Arvid Auner no chance. The German Stefan Baumeister came third.

Overall rating: Bormolini greets from the top This victory has a sweet aftertaste for Bormolini: he not only leads the parallel slalom ranking, but is also at the top of the overall ranking. With 372 points he is ahead of the Austrian Andreas Prommegger (337 points).

Edwin Coratti provided the best South Tyrolean result on Sunday raced onto the podium the day before. The man from Langtaufer ended up in 6th place, while his teammate Daniele Bagozza from Val Gardena came 8th. Aaron March came 13th in the final ranking, one place ahead of Marc Hofer. For Gabriel Messner, Mirko Felicetti and Roland Filehner, qualifying was the end of the line.

Neat result from Ochner In the women's category, the Swiss Julie Zogg came out on top ahead of the Austrian Daniela Ulbing. The Swiss Patrizia Kummer came third. Nadya Ochner took 10th place, which is a decent result considering her long injury break. Best Azzurra was Lucia Dalmasso, who came 8th.
