One more month until the Snowboard World Cup on the Karerpass

On Thursday, December 16, 2021, a parallel giant slalom for women and men will be held on the legendary black slope in the face of the Rosengarten. The anticipation of the renowned South Tyrolean winter sports event is already huge among the top athletes of the Italian national team. After the best snowboarders in the world have built up a lot of fitness over the past few weeks and months and recently worked on their technical skills on snow, the stars of the scene can hardly wait for the 2021/22 season to finally begin. They don't have to wait much longer, because in three weeks a parallel giant slalom (Saturday, December 11th) and a parallel slalom (Sunday, December 12th) will start in Bannoye, Russia. As soon as they returned to Central Europe, the World Cup entourage set up camp at the Karerpass, where the second parallel giant slalom of the winter will take place on Thursday, December 16th. Successful Azzurri The snowboarders of the Italian national team can now look forward to a home race. And the Azzurri have also been successful on the Pra Di Tori slope in the past. So far, veteran Roland Filehner has achieved two victories (2011, 2014), while Nadya Ochner has one victory (2018) and a third place (2014). But this year Aaron March is traveling to the Karerpass as the big hunted man. Schabner, who lives in Völs, won the overall World Cup for the first time last winter and also won the “small” crystal ball for the slalom classification – the greatest successes of his long career to date. After good preparation, March is ready for the coming winter. Nadya Ochner (Burgstall) looks back on the preparation for the season so far with great satisfaction. “It has gone very well so far. We were unlucky with the weather a few times, which meant we missed out on a few snowy days. But all in all we can be satisfied with the preparation. My form curve is pointing upwards and I think I'm on the right track. The home race on the Karerpass is always a highlight for me. After this good preparation I will definitely come there with a lot of self-confidence, attack fully and try to have fun. And of course I would like to repeat the good things that I achieved in my victory in 2018,” beams Ochner. However, the preparation didn't go according to plan at all for veteran Roland Fischnelller, who has to deal with a annoying injury in the Olympic winter. The Snowboard World Cup in Carezza will take place without spectators.
