Omar Visintin also wins in Turkey

It's on Omar Visintin. After his World Cup victory in Cervinia shortly before Christmas, the Algunder struck again. In Erzurum, Turkey, Visintin was the fastest in boardercross. Emanuel Perathoner also landed in the top 10.

With his second win in a row, Visintin is definitely a contender for the Olympics. It is the 28-year-old's fourth World Cup victory, although the first two were some time ago: December 2012 in Montafon and January 2014 in Andorra.

Vaultier relegated to second place again

Just like a month ago in Cervinia, Visintin pushed the French superstar and last year's overall World Cup winner Paul Vaultier into second place. Vorarlberg's Alessandro Hämmerle and US boy Nick Baumgartner came third and fourth.

Omar Visintin got through the first round in first place, the round of 16 and quarter-finals in second place and the semi-finals again in first place.

Fourth in the overall World Cup

With the victory, Visintin has moved up to fourth place in the overall World Cup, just behind the Australian Alex Pullin (today 8th), Vaultier and Hämmerle. The next two weekends will see World Cup races in Bansko (Bulgaria) and Feldberg (Germany).

Perathoner eliminated in the quarterfinals

The second strong South Tyrolean boardercrosser, Emanuel Perathoner from Laion, made it to the quarter-finals, where he had to admit defeat to Vaultier and the Spaniard Hernandez. In the final results, Perathoner came in 10th place.

Another World Cup race is scheduled for Sunday in Erzurum, although not an individual competition, but the team competition that Visintin and Perathoner will compete together.
